I want to say a special thank you to the electricians who came by the church last week to trace wiring and fix some issues we’ve been having. Thanks Mark and Bill for dropping by and sharing your knowledge. The doors at Christian Church of Waterloo are always open to you.
What Was It Like?
When I think of the night Jesus was born I am amazed at how beautiful it must have been. This is God’s one and only Son. This is His time to bring something wonderful into the world, and so He did.As I think about the night He was born I see a beautiful night beyond belief. The sky was clear and glistening with what probably appeared as diamonds. All except for one star that outshone all the others.
This star was the star that guided the Wise Men from afar. It shone over Jesus as He lay peacefully in the manger. We’ve watched as many people have performed this scene for us and yet, I never grow weary of it.
Did Mary know what her son was to do for the world. To her amazement of what she was told, she was told bits and pieces, but never given the entire story. Kind of like our lives. We get bits and pieces that we can digest, but many times we don’t know the whole story.
I am sure Mary was looking forward to her role as Jesus mother. I started to say she may have been scared or confused, but just then I remembered those emotions are from satan, not God. Our God is a God of peace, just like when we saw Jesus as a baby. He was quiet, radiant, beautiful and most of all, He was full of peace.
During the last few days of this season, take time out for peace; bring peace to someone else or take a few minutes for yourself and breathe. God’s got this. He wants you to enjoy the peace that transcends all understanding. Just keep you hearts and minds on Christ Jesus.
Warning! Warning! Warning!
Hey all,
There is so much going on that I have to share. The information I’ll be sharing on this page will be spiritual and sometimes religious in nature. It is not meant to offend anyone, but to talk about things I am learning that may help you in your daily quest.
For those of you that know me. I am still teaching Social Media Marketing, but I am teaching more of the Gospel now than Social Media. As I’ve mentioned in earlier posts, I’ve been blessed tremendously and accepted the call to be pastor of the Christian Church of Waterloo, Nebraska.
So with baited breath and looking toward the goal, welcome to my musings.
If you are here for Social Media Marketing, you’ll get much more than you bargained for. Thank you to everyone who’s making this ride a reality.
What’s Mike Bitter Up to Now?
You may have noticed I’ve not been in the mainstream as much as I used to be, or should I say I’ve entered into a different mainstream. Life has been an incredible adventure and has stayed true to it’s form. Many very close friends have watched as I’ve taken on a new role in life.
I’ve had superlative support in my new role and it’s time I let the world know what I’ve been doing. I’m so excited I just can’t keep it to myself. Many of my very close friends have seen me grow spiritually and at times it’s been like riding a bullet train.
So many people stepped up to help me grow and prepare for an opportunity I never knew awaited me. Thank to everyone who’s made this ride incredible. You know who you are….anyone who’s encouraged me along the way.
Over the last 6 months my life has changed dramatically. What started out as a visit to a local church has now turned into a full time ministry. Can you believe it? I am doing full time ministry in a small town in Nebraska. This is so kewl I had to share it with you.
As for my businesses? Well, for the most part any one connected in any way with my businesses know about my new role in life. I still teach social media marketing and do presentations for businesses, but I’m also using my social media management skills to help build congregations.
As my ministry grows (it started with 6 and is now 35) I’m learning ways to local churches to their community through social media. If a church is not ministering to their local community they will be in peril of extinction.
You can see I’ve been busy with my new role in life. It’s like building a business based upon biblical principles. Wow! It’s an incredible ride. Drop by sometime, we’ll make you feel right at home.

Supercharge Your Chamber’s Email Marketing Efforts
Friday I am teaching “Supercharge Your Chamber’s Email Marketing Efforts” at the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce Executives (NCCE) conference Friday in Broken Bow. I hope to see you there.
Look for the “Supercharge Your Chamber’s Email Marketing Efforts” program to also be released to the public as a webinar later this month.
I May Have Crumbs, but…..
I May Have Crumbs, but…..
As I look out over the floor I realize there are crumbs and other types of things that just “shouldn’t be there.” Then comes the ultimate question to yourself “should I offer to sweep their floor?” Why don’t they clean their floors better? It’s easy for us to take our vision for granted and miss something more important along the way.
I have had the pleasure of working with some of the smartest, most compassionate members of society in Nebraska and Iowa. One of those smart and compassionate people started Vision Support Group. This is not like any other group. This group’s members consist of people who’ve had a traumatic event in their life adversely affecting their vision. This brings us to crumbs on the floor.
As I spend time with visually impaired people (I didn’t know they were visually impaired because there are no noticeable injuries, injuries with residual effects) I realize they don’t see what I see. In fact they may be missing vision from certain parts of their field of vision. When I realized the crumbs on the floor are there because visually impaired people don’t see them, I realized I need to stop judging and learn as much as I can about their visual impairment so I can assist them.
If you see me sitting with someone in a restaurant and hear me reading the menu to them, it’s probably because they are visually impaired and cannot read the menu themselves. Crumbs on the floor aren’t so bad anymore.

Microsoft + LinkedIn: Beginning our Journey Together
Below is the start of an article I found about the Microsoft/LinkedIn purchase. This could prove to be interesting.
********************
Today is an exciting day, one I’ve been looking forward to since June. It marks the close of the agreement for Microsoft to acquire LinkedIn and the beginning of our journey to bring together the world’s leading professional cloud and the world’s leading professional network.
As our two companies’ leadership teams have spent time together these last few months, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of and appreciation for LinkedIn’s relentless focus on its members.
Today I am even more enthusiastic about the common mission and sense of purpose we share, the similarities in our cultures, and the added value we can create for LinkedIn members, to help professionals transform how they work, realize new career opportunities and connect in new ways.
