Flooding Has Gone, So Have Lives

Several weeks back we were in Beaver City, Nebraska.  The children in that small city of under 900 people raised enough money to purchase bibles for children flood survivors.

Yes, there are many, many child survivors too.  I’ve heard many stories from children of what their house used to be like.  It is quite moving.

During the meeting to accept the bibles a little girl asked if the flooding (water) was gone.  At that moment it hit me.  The flooding is gone, but the pain, the rebuilding, the new normals are there and always will be.  Only through time will the pain lessen and the rebuilding be finished.  No matter what happens, the Flood of 2019 will not long be forgotten.

Say a prayer or two for our work in and around the area.  We’ve never been involved in anything like this, so through a lot of this we are “flying by the seat of our pants”.
