The guest pastor at Martinwood Christian Church this weekend was Pastor David Davison. David graduated from Martinwood’s Pastor’s Class in 2022. His sermon is “What To Do In Times of Trouble”. Pastor David speaks from a position of experience. He has an answer for those times when we get knocked down and aren’t sure what to do next.

Love Thyself as I Have Loved You
God is the Word. That’s how we find out what he wants us to do and how to love ourselves. The better our relationship with our Lord, the more we’ll want to do for Him and love someone else per the last chapter, then the more we will love ourselves in the process, but where does it start? Where does loving yourself start? It starts with you. It starts in the beginning. It starts with the Word. The Word of God. Let go to the first book of John, the very first verse.… In the beginning; at John 1:1.
Suit Up and Show Up
For me to Suit Up and Show Up does not mean there’s a battle going on or something you need to take part in, it just means when the Lord calls you to Suit Up and Show Up He just wants you to be there. In many cases, if you’re not there when called, God can’t do His work because there’s no one He can’t work through.
The Greatest Thing In The World
The Greatest Thing In the World
Today we’re going to talk about the Greatest Thing in the World as written in Henry Drummond’s book by the same title. Henry’s book is one of the best books I’ve read on the subject. The book talks about how Paul interpreted Jesus’ Love for us and what that means in our everyday life.
More Like Jesus and Less Like Me
Are we molding our image of Jesus into something that allows us to sin and tolerate something other than who Jesus was? I am enthralled by the concept and so I wanted to bring it to your attention and take a look at ourselves to see how we envision Jesus. Maybe even take a look at the church and see how closely we mimic Jesus, or how much closer we can become like Jesus. Maybe we need some work to be done. See what you think.
God Gave Us the Tools We Need to Fly
What is your spirit? Has it changed over time? Is it where you’d like to have it for your time in life? If not, how would you change it? The first thing is to decide where you are. What you believe in and where you want to go. Sometimes our spirit is dictated by our circumstances and not by the Holy Spirit or the spirit that was put inside us. In the first chapter of Genesis, it states God’s Spirit hovered over the waters; then from His spirit, He created light and separated the night from the day. That was the start of Him creating the universe and who knows what else.
